      LEAST COST ROUTING TO SWITCH

If any of these are relevant to you?

Anyone in the international Calling wholesale or carrier or arbitrage business knows the complexity of balancing many factors quickly and efficiently and run a profitable operation. Only the smarter ones make money and the others lose money. Is it really possible to effectively and quickly change the call routing in a near automated manner, considering there are dynamic rate changes, dialing digit changes, quality changes, vendor/trunk changes, network changes etc.? Yes. The solution is, Cadebill Least Cost Routing. Cadebill uses advanced mathematical logic balancing all the factors to provide a quality, risk averse, profitable routing solutions. Cadebill provides two powerful modules.

  • LCR calculation and provisioning of Switch
  • post analysis of LCR operation

LCR calculation and provisioning of Switch

LCR based on user definable parameters

  • Cadebill LCR has user definable data and rule based architecture. allows and end user to setup based on user definable parameters and weights for each parameter. For example, a setup may define 80% weight to the vendor rate, 10% to ASR, another 10% to any user defined parameter.

  • Digit level analysis and routing

  • For each international destination, every vendor has their own digits. This digit may be different from sell side digits. Cadebill LCR analyzes sell side digits with different vendors buy side digits and create a risk averse routing model.

  • End user will be able to define as many route cases (routable destinations) as detailed as digit level, and cadebill LCR will automatically get the best vendor for a route, by matching vendor's rates, digits, quality of the call based on historical data and any other user defined parameters.

  • LCR with Inter Machine Trunk (IMT) capability

  • One or more switches across different parts of the world, connected through IMT, may work in tandem to route traffic between them so that a call is completed with best vendor at any of the switches. Cadebill LCR has methods to calculate the best vendor across the switches.

  • Exclusions and Inclusions

  • A vendor or a trunk may be excluded or included for a speciffic route, product combination. This gives the ability for the switch technicians to exclude/include a trunk based on the performance or other contractual issues related to a vendor or a vendor trunk.

  • Route and Vendor Overrides

  • LCR route/vendor trunk position calculation may be manually overridden with any trunk. This is useful to temporarily override a route for a vendor.

  • What if capability

  • Cadebill LCR has two states, a switch state and a current working state. A switch state is representation of what is currently in the switch. A current working state is the reflection Current LCR changes from the switch state based on new rate and/or digit changes from vendors, inclusions/exclusions. Cadebill LCR what if capability details the effect of including and excluding a vendor or vendor trunks.

  • Risk averse routing

  • In addition to Cadebill risk averse algorithms to calculate the best vendor based on buy side and sell side digits an option is available to block the vendors whose cost is above/below certain percentage of average sell price. For example, a restriction may be set that for each route, any vendor in first position should make a minimum of 2% profit, second position should make a minimum of 1% third position 0%, fourth position at a loss of 1% and so on. For a route a vendor will not be placed in the routing if the profit/loss criteria are not met.

  • user definable templates

  • An LCR template is set of data and rules for a specific switch or an operation. Multiple LCR templates for multiple switches with different set of data and rules for each template allow enterprise wide LCR routing capability with variety of switches and operations. For example an organization may have both VoIP operation and circuit switched operation with each operation have different set of rules for LCR. Alternatively, an enterprise may have two independent operations on two geographic locations with different business rules. Cadebill LCR can accommodate such needs with multiple LCR templates.

  • Administration and security

  • With cadebill security module, a wide variety of roles and security mechanism may be setup with what user can do what LCR operation.

  • Switch machine language generation and automatic email and/or provisioning of switch

  • A custom end user definable procedure can generate the switch specific language using the data generated by LCR. On demand by LCR administrator (or automatically at scheduled intervals with Cadebill scheduler module), machine language or data in specific format for each switch can be generated and sent to switch operators. Alternatively, the machine language may be directly uploaded to the switch.

  • post analysis of LCR operation

  • LCR routing analysis and alert report module analyze the result of LCR provisioning. This produces a detailed report at digit level for each destination, as which digits the calls did not go through the best available vendor and what is the potential lost profit.

  • while LCR provisioning does the best setup based on the data available, switches may not route the calls always with the best vendor for number of reasons - insufficient vendor trunk capacity, vendor unable to complete the calls etc. This analysis module produces the report pointing to where the best least cost routing did not take place and the lost profits.
